shadow play

[click on pictures to enlarge - NOT taken via iPhone]

This picture was taken a few weeks ago around lunch time. A colleague had shown me a famous National Geographic picture of camels in the desert. So when I saw this scene the very next day, I had to immortalize it.
What's so special about it? Let me help you: focus on the people in the street, but more specifically on their shadows. When you look at the people from such a height, they are stripped off all their details. While here, their shadows are actually very precise and give you a much better idea of the individuals. Amazing, no?

Amazing, yes. :) What's even more amazing is that we tend to overlook that sort of thing, don't we?

I really like these two photos. The bike lane symbols look like some of my smilies! Ahhhhahahaha!

(PS: I started protesting last night, with a different picture, that's why. - Now it's "the color yellow" meets "monks." ;))

Whew! I can't look but for a second because of the perspective. I like the creativity and the explanation.

C'est vraiment intéressant de regarder cette photo. Les ombres des chameaux sont encore plus spectaculaires ! Et toujours les beaux taxis à fleurs !

•fénix: I admit that I would probably not have been that impressed, had I not seen the camel picture the day before. >8)
•lynette: take a deep breath.
•singer: thank you
•andrew: thanks. Come on, it's not that high. Well it is.
•olivier: 45ème étage, bien à l'abris du vent.
•claudine: n'est-ce pas?! Ça me serait sans doute passé sous le nez si je n'avais pas vu la photo des chameaux la veille.
•monika: glad you enjoyed it. Thank you.

Nice shot from a height with the stretch of shadows on the pavement. The taxi designs stand out too.:)
