the times online

Mise en ligne par • Eliane •

Here's a glimse of the installation in The New York Times lobby. It is made of a multitude of little screens, on which pieces of sentences that appear on nyt.com are displayed episodically. It is constantly changing.

One of you made the comment that The New York Times must be in pretty good shape to be moving in this new digs. You can learn much more about it in this article Pride and Nostalgia Mix in The Times’s New Home - you'll learn that renovating the old building to bring it to the digital age would have been a nightmare, that The NY Times does not occupy the entire building but rents a large part of it, et cetera, et cetera. Plus, the pictures of the interiors are pretty cool.

This is great to see, and the earlier images as well. Even out in the boondocks we read the New York Times.

Oh this is fabulous. I'd adore to see this wall. Great way you've photographed it - and the earlier post.

Hi Eliane! You probably didn’t notice, but I was absent for a while… ;)) Anyhow, I missed your posts and comments, so I’m trying to catch up what I can!
Loved to see the Times inside; no wonder, Renzo Piano is also one of my favourites...
Hope you have a great Sunday and a better week!

I know that building fairly well because I had to meet some friends at the Port Authority recently.

It is an awesome building but not located in the nicest of places in midtown.

Ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much for you kind visit and comment.

•monica, I'm with you: looks like a nice space to work in. Especially when you look at the pictures of the interiors, to which the visitors do not have access. I wish someone would invite me to lunch there!!

•ming, well, I think this could be part of the change of that neighborhood. I've heard there are now some super good restaurants in the Bus Terminal (!) and shops will open in the ground floor. Muji, that Japanese shop which I love, will open soon. That will bring a different crowd, a notch up!

I've wondered about what was going on behind those doors. Thanks for taking me inside with you. Those little framed messages are great!
