Harlem Meer in Central Park North - map it here
This picture was taken during Memorial Day weekend in the North of Central Park. I am sure this photo is probably not great technically but I love how the sun contours these friends enjoying a late picnic. The balloon looks almost surreal.
When was the last time you picnic-ed on the grass? Exactly.

Nice one Elaine. We'll show em New York has plenty of greenery!
Between you uptown and me downtown...we'll have Manhattan covered! :)
This is a nice photograph. It would look even better if it were larger. I never tried to click on it so it might be larger. Anyway it is very nice the the sky is odd. It looks like clouds around the edge in white with the blue in the middle.
I like the clouds in the distance. Last time I had a picnic? I Can't remember! I think I should do something about that this summer :)
If picnicing on a deserted island under the coconut palms counts - then the answer is - a couple of weeks ago!!
At opposite I find it technically great. As said on Flickr look that extraordinary light on the ball :-)
It is a beautiful shot!!
Very nice. The shadows are fabulous and technically, I think if we all like it, it's perfect! Yes, the ball looks like a bubble and really adds to the photo.
Eliane, this is a beautiful photo. A totally different view of Central Park.
I rarely venture beyond 95th Street inside Central Park. I usually walk up from 5th Avenue and 60th Street to the MET or Bathesda Fountain and back.
bucolique et lumineux, l'endroit se prête vraiment à une pause
