@ monika: great! Good to know that it is useful. It also helps me remember where I was. ;)
Thank you fabrizio, julia and ming/ It is huge indeed: it covers the entire side of a H&M store on W125th Street. I was grateful to the fellow on the left side of the picture to pop in. He gives a good idea of the scale.
This beautiful mural reminds me of the murals we once enjoyed in Los Angeles. Taggers destroy them before they are even finished. Part of the reason is that the murals enjoyed certain protections. The kids figured this out and realized by tagging the murals, their names stayed up much longer. The end result is a complete loss of funding. Sadly, these are the very same kids the city was targeting as mural assistants. A door into larger funding for the "murals" they might have been able to create.
Belgian gal, French speaking, lands in Manhattan for work. Falls in love with her new city and stays. Keeps on discovering it every single day and loves it! Shares it with you through daily pictures. Makes no pretense of being a photographer. Is more of a happy-snapper note-taker.
I just take pictures for fun and don't mind if you do use them. What I do mind though is that credit be given where credit is due. Nobody likes a photo stealer...

Beautiful mural. Did I mention that I love the clickable map links? Thank you!
Agree ! I love murals and this one is plenty of meaning... And colours.
Every city should have these and this one is much more refined than some works and is hugh.
That is a HUGE and impressive mural.

I'm glad you mentioned the little man there. I didn't see him. At all!
