Broadway @ W79th St - map it here
I've received a few worried emails asking for an update on its condition. I know you care and are worried. So here's a recent picture of our little friend: it is still there, standing courageously padlocked to the subway entrance, keeping an eye on the passers-by, adding a positive yellow note on a Upper West Side corner. The summer seems to have been a bit tough on our little friend. Let's just hope it stays in good shape for many more months to come.

I think it's time to add to it, perhaps a scarf to keep it warm as winter approaches, or some socks for it's feet?

Keep that thing locked up tight. Some weirdo might try and rip it off and take it home for pete sakes!
No E., i didn't buy the dress. I am not so much into Pochahontas wear anymore. Maybe around Thanksgiving....
It looks a bit worse for wear, but I'm pleased to see this most recent of New York landmarks still there! Thank goodness :)
@ bitingmidge: a scarf is such a stylish idea. I like it.
@ virginia: are you reading my mind? I just have the perfect place for it.
@ marley: such a relief, indeed: each day, when I pass near it, my heart beats a little faster.
LOL
The poor thing has lost some weight it seems!
j'étais également assez inquiet je pensais qu'elle serait partie en vacances mais non elle tiens le coup.
Plus typique que la statue de la liberté : la chaise emprisonnée
I guess that cracked piece had to go some time, but it seems too fast!
Honestly, I still want to know who put it there. And why!
Love your new pic, btw.
Thank you Eliane for updating. I was one of those worried about our little friend :-)
Yeah It's a bit worse!
Maybe a future Art Masterpiece?
Ready for the MOMA?
Muchachas y muchachos!
Once again, thanks for your heartfelt contribution. I will continue to bring you updates on our little friend's condition.
@ nathalie: merci, merci. Oui, oui, c'est pris de la fenêtre de mon bureau. Des photos un peu paresseuses en sorte
@ olivier: bonne suggestion!
@ hilda: aww, thanks!
Hang on, little chair!
