Today is Veterans Day in the US, the Armistice (truce) of WWI in Europe. Above is a quick picture of the Soldiers and Sailors monument, taken during my morning run in Riverside Park.
It's been there since 1902 and commemorates Union Army soldiers and sailors who served in the Civil War. You can learn more about this monument history in this article from The New York Times.
