you are here

you are here
corner of vanderbilt & dekalb Ave, fort greene, new york - map it here
What do you do on gloomy rainy day? Either you stay home, mad at the sky, watching DVDs and drinking hot cocoa. Or, you explore a new neighborhood and stumble on something that can brighten your day. Which is what I did yesterday and discovered Fort Greene, a Brooklyn neighborhood. And I stumbled on this very nice mural.

If you enlarge the picture, you might be able to see little dots on the map - people of the neighborhood where invited to put a dot in the spot where their home was located.

That IS a beautiful mural! And what a cool idea to put dots where people live. Makes the art personal and helps people connect. Cool!

Slap me silly that is bright and perky! Eliane, re the mom and pops at my place, if you compare the "go go bar" to Scores, or some other supposedly high end Manhattan strip club owned by corporate concerns, it is truly a Mom and Pop joint. Well, maybe more pop than mom...
