Where could you be in seven hours, taking off from New York JFK airport? Hmm, take a guess. For now, let's just admire last night beautiful sky.

Even with the reflection of the neon lights in the windows it's pretty darn cool if you ask me.

the fdny boys

I snapped this picture of the boys of the FDNY at the ticket-tape parade held for the Giants this Tuesday in Lower Manhattan. Always ready to pose for a photograph, they are also known as New York bravest. As opposed to the boys of the NYPD (police department), who are known as New York finest.

Did you know that the FDNY protects more than 8 million residents in an area of 320 square miles? That the uniformed force consists of more than 11,400 fire fighters? That the department also includes 2,800 EMS employees (Emergency Medical Service), as well as 1200 civilian employees? No??? And you did not know that they are famous for their calendars either? Right...

Since you did not know, here's the link to the calendar: http://www.nycwebstore.com. The things you have to do in the name of blogging.

Well, this is all I got for you from the ticker-tape parade that was organized for the Giants this Tuesday. I did not see it, I was just in the area around lunch time and the parade was just over. But the streets around City Hall and Broadway were completely packed.

If you want to learn more about the ticket-tape parade, its history, etc, here are a few links I gathered for you:

super tuesday

I just read that Hillary took 58% of the democratic votes for the NY state. Which is why, as a good reporter, I can now post this picture taken this morning at the W72nd street subway station and not the one taken at the W79th street subway station.
See, at the W79th station you had a dozen of Obama supporters and one poor guy supporting Hillary. While at the W72nd, you had a dozen of Hillary supporters (*) and one poor woman supporting Obama.
A little error of strategy from the Obama team here: W72nd has much more pedestrian traffic. They should have asked me, I would have told them. Ah well...

So, inquiring mind wants to know: DID YOU VOTE TODAY??
I did not as I am not a U.S. citizen, but I did go to the Belgian Consulate to vote at our last elections.

Yes, I am still alive for those of you who were worried. ;)
It's been one of those crazy weeks at work, getting ready for some even more insane weeks ahead. I predict some irregularity in the posts as I will be traveling quite a bit this month.

Anyone can guess the location of this picture? Some clues:
- technically, it's in NYC ;
- if you are claustrophobic, you want to get out of it fast ;
- it costs $6.
Anyone?
Alright, one more clue:

No? Still nothing?
