a typical new york breakfast

artie's delicatessen - broadway & 83rd - map it here [L]
A toasted bagel, a little cream cheese, some onion, good nova, capers and a watery coffee, that's what makes a quintessential New York breakfast. Well, there's also the slice of tomato, which I got rid of because I am picky like that.

And if you're eating at Artie's, they bring you a huge bowl of cole slaw and another one full of pickles. Which I don't eat, 'cause I am picky like that.

I love Artie's Chicken Soup .. always ask for the noodles or matzoh ball to be put in a separate container or you dont get enough soup!

I dont 'get' this tomato on a bagel w/smoked salmon or that they call smoked salmon lox, its not lox!

Damn, now I am craving some lox!

Back from holiday, trying to catch up ...

Nothing beats a toasted bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon on a Sunday morning.

Oh add a good strong cup of coffee and NYTime.com on the iPhone to that list. :-)
